Listen :: Get Inuit serve up a tasty new single in 'Teriyaki'

Words: LB

"Teriyaki is a cooking technique used in Japanese cuisine in which foods are broiled or grilled with a glaze of soy sauce."

Get Inuit may be turning Japanese, or just expressing their love of the cuisine in an oblique way, we're not sure, but 'Teriyaki' is the finely prepared new single from the Kent band that's, well, べての良いです as they say.

We're not just puzzled by the Japanese, but the up-ended ice-cream cone in the artwork is also perplexing. Could it all be some secret code language? Hell, it's like you need a Mensa IQ to unravel this band.

Anyway, this particular 'Teriyaki' for the ears is nicely glazed with a melodic sauce of fizzing, distorted guitar opening and frontman Jamie Glass working some chef-like magic in the music kitchen as he sends the line “I can’t remember who I was before” to the pass.

This new single arrives ahead of their October tour with Spring King, The Big Moon, The Magic Gang, and Kagoule. See dates below.

‘Teriyaki’ is digitally released on September 2 via Bon Nudity (self release), with a physical 7” release following on September 30 through Tunbridge Wells-based DIY label Unlabel.
