Chorley’s Then Thickens run another cut from 2015’s ‘Colic’ album, this time the big opening track released on August 19 via Hatch Records. Slow building guitars and infectious piano hooks work neatly around Jon-Lee Martin’s vocals. Star rating: ★★★☆☆
DUCHESS SAYS - I REPEAT MYSELF
The Montreal quartet turn out some 70s vibed disco-punk on this infectious Moog new single - with vocalist Annie-Claude Deschênes sounding like a latterday Siouxsie Sioux - taken from their third album 'Sciences Nouvelles' out on October 14 via Slovenly / Bonsound. Star rating: ★★★★☆
SHVLLOWS - ZURICH
Edinburgh electro-synth quartet whip up some big melodies in this uplifting pop single, released on September 16 via Choose Rude Records, the follow-up to April's debut 'Shake'. Star rating: ★★★★☆
