October 7 2016 - Hot Top Ten

TRACK OF THE WEEK
LUSTER - SEXBEAT
After making our Track Of The Day earlier this week, we reprise this sexy beast from the Copenhagen quartet, their follow-up from summer debut track 'Good Dreamer'. An hypnotic mix of Cold Pumas-like drum drones, TOY psych guitar riffs and a lot of sex. We love it.

LA BÊTE BLOOMS - BREAKING IN
Two-minute-plus new single (and lead cut from the Hull alt-rockers' second EP' I Know It’s Nothing' out early next year), of pummeling guitar and railing feedback in a blistering co-release between Warren Records and Adult Teeth, out on October 28.

HIDDEN CHARMS - I JUST WANNA BE LEFT ALONE
Doing their Garbo number, the new single taken from the South Londoners' latest EP 'Harder From Here' released on October 28 via Deltasonic Records. Written about 'the claustrophobic nature of modern society', the band weld a hefty hefty stick of propulsive and gritty rock n’ roll. Catch live on October 19 at Stoke's Sugarmill.

PAIR - NORTHERN LIGHTS
Stockholm-based electro-pop duo, My Schaffer and Minna Lundberg, offer their impressive debut single, of dreamy, melancholic synthpop. Expect their first EP early next year.

LIINES - DISAPPEAR
Out on October 28 through Reckless Yes Records, the double A-side single (w/'Be Here') of driving bass and an onslaught of Leila O’Sullivan's drumming, from the Manchester post-punk trio, produced by Paul Tipler (Idlewild, Placebo, Sterelab). Catch live at Birthdays in London on October 29.

TINY DINOSAURS - SIT AND STARE
Los Angeles-based French native Julie Jay has come back from being in a coma and without the strength to speak let alone sing, with a five-track EP 'Awake', from which this track comes, released on October 21. 'Awake' will be followed by a second EP, 'Asleep', early next year. This alt-folk-dreampop track perfectly encapsulates a timeless essence of reflection.

SOMEDAY I WILL MISS YOU - BROKEN TOY E
One of those curious cross-genre tracks that is hard to define. SIWMY is the solo project of Dino Pavlov from Karlovac, Croatia. Capturing ambient, melancholic soundscapes combined with raw, lo-fi beats, synths, the end result is atmospheric dreampop pierced by an ethereal vocal. Different, and entrancing.

CHASMS - BEYOND FLESH
San Francisco's Jess Labrador and Shannon Sky Madden share this sumptuous track from their upcoming debut album, 'On The Legs Of Love Purified', which drops on October 14 via felte. The duo follow earlier single 'Black Ice' with another touch of haunting and chilled shoegaze.

THE RADIO DEPT. - WE GOT GAME
New politicised single, following 'Swedish Guns', from the synthpop Swedes - Johan Duncanson and Martin Carlberg - taken from the 'Running Out Of Love' LP released on October 21 via Labrador - their first in six years.

ANIMAL HOUSE - HEAVY
The Brighton-based Aussie garage rock outfit unveil their EP 'Sorry' on November 18, with this melodically punctuated track as a pre-taster - although fans may remember it as the B-side to 2014 single 'Sour'.
