It's that time of year once again where Little Indie has rounded up our longlist of emerging artists who we think will be worth taking a gamble on in 2020, as well as a few who 'hatched' awhile ago but are now ready - we think - to break free.
THE LATHUMS
The young Wigan four-piece The Lathums have already been selling out local gigs, after winning the interest of The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess, who asked them to play at Kendal Calling. They've accumulated a strong fanbase through their alt-indie influenced style. Sam Geary
AITCH
The Manchester rapper hooked up with Stormzy on a remix of Ed Sheeran’s 'Take Me Back To London' last year following his multi-million streamed 'Straight Rhymez', so this 20-year-old MC is on the money. He puts his own spin on rap, grime and dubstep to come up with something sweet, so bank on Harrison Armstrong being a hot ticket in 2020. Charlie Emmett
DO NOTHING

Nottingham-based foursome Do Nothing are a band certainly worth taking note of. With only a handful of tracks since 2018, ‘LeBron James’, their latest, has had people sit up and take notice with its sharp, post-punk edge and Chris Bailey’s biting, and distinctively different vocal style, snapping out the caustic lyrics, amidst an array of funk rhythms. GURU

First saw GURU at Neverworld Festival back in August and was impressed by their passion and pure musical abandonment. Frontman Tommy Cherill cuts a fine figure on stage along with biting vocals that pierce the skin and fast and loud distorted guitars that keeps the ears pricked and beats that you just need to mosh too. KID VIOLET
I only came across Kid Violet quite recently, but already on just two singles output, 'I Don't Care' and 'Sex On Drugs', the London five-piece have made me take notice. They possess a solid groove and some serious intent. Promoters This Feeling have already felt the quality in naming them of their 'Big in 2020' bands, so get in the Kids' zone now. Charlie Emmett
