Track Of The Day :: The All Seeing Hand - Swarm
Words: Linn Branson
'Swarm' is the debut single and first cut from the upcoming album 'Sand To Glass', released on November 1 via Muzai Records, by Wellington, New Zealand band The All Seeing Hand.
Frankly, I'm at a loss here to say anything here. It's going to divide opinion, I'll say that - and it's here as a Track Of The Day to do just that. It may appeal to Fucked Up fans and those who like something a little, well, edgy. We're not sure you'll be humming the tune all day after hearing though.
David Morrison from the band - who we think may go by the name Alphabethead - describes TASH as "a drum, electronics and singing trio and although we like to avoid categorization I think we’re probably closest to the realms of psych-rock and post-punk."
The intention with 'Swarm', he goes on to say, was "to represent Jeff Goldblum's fly transformation in audio form! Hence the crawling, grotesque vocals. We also have a jaw-harp solo which was the closest instrument we could find to buzzing flies!"
