Track Of The Day :: Garlands - The Ratio

The latest track from Oakland, California duo Garlands is this piece of shimmering shoegaze, 'The Ratio'.

The newgaze/dream-pop pair, Lisa Light (The Lovemakers, El Elle) and Mikael Johnston (Mephisto Odyssey, Dresden & Johnston), take Lisa's vocals and layer them over analog synths and washed out guitar lines to create something that is dreamy, and filled with evocative melodies.

'The Ratio' is taken from Garlands' self-titled debut LP released on October 25. They play a record release party on October 27 at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco with Halou and N. Lannon.

    I just wonder how many various music genres we have nowadays with all the musical pollution that bother us to find something really worthy.
