If ever there was an easy decision on a Track Of The Day choice it surely has to be with this one.
‘Brave New World’, premiered on BBC 6 Music on Monday by Chris Hawkins, is released on download from July 7 via Rock Art Records, shows just how close The Blinders are to taking the step up from a band with potential - to bloody massive.
"You won't find us in it, because we feel like we don't need to be," the band state in reference to the track's accompanying video. "The film focuses on the cult leaders of mindless nations, mass slaughter and exploitation, and the desolation of the world... not the mental self-fornication of three boys in a band."
The anthemic nature of ‘Brave New World’ really needs little explanation: a dystopian portrayal of the modern day 'free world', and the inevitable 'helter skelter' we would face, so long as things continued this way. But while the lyrics may be sharp in sarcasm - this is unlikely to be Donald Trump's track of the day, let's say - its stomping beat and bass line is going to drive mosh pits wild.
To paraphrase William Shakespeare, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them, The Blinders just simply are - Great.
