** PREMIERE ** Dumb Lovers - Girl

Words: Sam Geary

Following their April debut with 'Oscar', and May's 'Jessie', Bournemouth-based two-piece Megan Rees (vocals) and Robin Clark (guitar, bass), otherwise known as Dumb Lovers, now drop new single 'Girl'.

Released today (September 7), and which Little Indie airs here first, 'Girl' "is about someone who became bitter and unforgiving and being unable to let things go and move on," says vocalist Megan. "It's dark, but still upbeat: a bit of a fuck you really!"

A perfect description as it happens. 'Girl' moves in a stylish mode around synth lines with a dreampop appeal, and the vocals delivered in a compelling way around lush shoots of reverbed guitar. We said when we heard 'Jessie' we thought it surpassed 'Oscar'. With 'Girl', it honestly feels they have gone one better than both its predecessors.

Take it in below.
