Track Of The Day :: Blonde Maze - Thunder

Words: Sam Geary

With almost 26k Soundcloud streams alone in under two weeks, the new single from Blonde Maze, 'Thunder', is well worth the last year it took to write and record.

It follows New Yorker Amanda Steckler - aka Blonde Maze - last offering, 2106’s 'Antarctica', and retains a similar vibe, with marimbas, glitchy vocals, but with more of a dreamier sound.

‘Thunder’, she says, is about "growing and changing with someone. You start to miss older times with them, but you also acknowledge that the growth has made them an inseparable part of your heart. Sometimes, with a relationship’s maturity, you lose your patience more, you let your guard down, and you get hurt, but the beauty of this maturity is that there becomes no one else in the world you are as comfortable growing with.”

Catch Blonde Maze live in London at Notting Hill Arts Club on October 27.
