Little Indie casts its ears and eyes over more of the latest sounds to emerge recently from Down Under.
BIG LEAGUE - FEEL GOOD PEACE
A great third single by Melbourne's indie pop-rock four-piece, taken from their debut album 'I Thought Thunderbolt', out now on Off The Hip Records. While the fuzzy guitar layers provide the grunge element, the dual male/female vocals add a lighter balance.
EASY STREET - VIRTUES
The Sydney indie pop-rock five-piece are as easy on the ear as they are by name. With their debut EP (out December 1), produced by ARIA award-winning Wayne Connolly, the rich harmonies, vintage synth, nestle alongside a singalong chorus and a jazzy rhythm section.
SWEATER CURSE - DON'T ASK ME
Released November 12, Brisbane's alt-rock trio follow May's 'Fell Asleep' with more off-kilter garage vibes blended with a topcoat of moreish post-punk.
DISPOSITION - CONNECTION
Infectious beats, samples and vocal manipulation make for a grower of a new track from the prodigious 20-year-old electronic dance producer from Hobart, Tasmania, which comes fast on the heels of latest single 'Dreamers', released November 9, which also features Hopium.
NEKO PINK - BLACK MOUNTAIN DRIVE
Interesting vocal touches on this four-minute debut by Canberra dreampop duo, Africa Mylchreest and Angus McAndrew, that blends 80s synths with a Beach House flavour.
JONATHAN BREE - SAY YOU LOVE ME TOO
Auckland, NZ pop artist follows recent 'You’re So Cool' with this smoothly hypnotic track from his forthcoming third album 'Sleepwalking', due for release in March 2018 via Lil' Chief Records. Catalonian musician Clara Viñals (from Renaldo and Clara) features as guest vocalist.
