New tracks coming up from Down Under
Little Indie casts its ears and eyes over more of the latest sounds to emerge recently from Down Under.
IDA - 1111
Sydney-based vocalist with electro-pop outfit Little Deed, branches out with this second single of intimate lyrics, moody synths and soaring vocal. "This song was fairly hard for me to find the courage to write," she says. "It’s always hard to be this brutally honest with how much you care about things you know you don’t deserve to. Musically, it started out being two completely different songs. It was a lightbulb moment being able to fit them both together."
NITERUNNER - LONG ROAD
Byron Bay, New South Wales electronic synthpop sibling trio follow 'Out of Your Hands' with a synthy-disco retro vibe. Andrea, Daniel, and Cale Suesskow channel a funky beat and catchy chorus.
FOREIGN ARCHITECT'S - TALK TO A SCIENTIST
Perth four-piece blend intricate melodies and pop hooks on this latest indie rock single. Recorded by The Money War's Dylan Olivierre, blissful guitar tones meld with Matt Burke's soulful voice.
HIGH-TAILS - FAMILY HOLIDAY
Smooth sailing new single from the Sydney quartet, taken from the October released 'A Slight Hi' album. Vocalist/guitarist Nicholas Griffith leads the way with his dreamy voice on the song he wrote "on a cheap keyboard at my mum’s house in Coffs Harbour around Christmas time." Sarah Sykes of Sunscreen and Flowertruck shreds the saxophone on this.
VALLIS ALPS - SO SETTLED
Following EP 'Fable' in March and recent single 'Oceans', this new upbeat track from the Sydney electronic pop duo sees Parissa Tosif's vocals glide over acoustic guitar and steel drums. "'So Settled' is a result of pushing our musical boundaries and shows an attitude shift in our writing process."
BATTS - SOMEDAYS
With her debut EP '62 Moons' out now via THAA Records, it is also worth checking out Melbourne singer Tanya Batt's new single. A melancholic heart-tugger that highlights her gripping vocals and delicate electric guitar.
