Track Of The Day :: Pizzagirl - Favourite Song
Words: Ellie Ward
Released last Friday (January 12) via Manchester indie label Heist or Hit, the first single from Pizzagirl, 'Favourite Song', is a moodily infectious invitation into the Liverpool lo-fi, electro-pop bedroom of the artist, Liam Brown.
Employing subtle synths, engaging rhythms, and a nostalgic 80s-esque vibe, 'Favourite Song' is a delight of a debut.
"'Favourite Song' is my attempt at making a tune that would fit nicely in a Miami Vice/Blade Runner soundtrack,” says Brown. “Lyrically, it's themed around being nostalgic, and seeing a certain person and time through a rose tinted camera lens. Ideally listening to it in 1989 would be best, but as long as you're cruising down the city streets in a convertible at night then you should hopefully enjoy it just the same."
