Premiered last night (March 5) by Huw Stephens on Radio One, Sea Girls new track, ‘Eat Me Whole’ is definitely something you will want to do with this follow-up to their recent ‘Heavenly War’.
"You think you're funny / you got nothing on me / And you killed this party / like they gave you money..." Henry Camamile opens this sub-three minute, Larry Hubbitt-produced number with. “It’s a story about the moment at a party when it’s just about to kick off over someone being rude and one guy thinking he’s the man, but in reality they’re just killing the vibe, " says the frontman of the track.
“It was written the same day we recorded it, so it has that exciting and impulsive energy of a brand new jam, so we thought let’s do something in the moment to reflect the story of the song and see what happens. The music and the lyrics all came together and we love how it sounds.”
We love it too. Can Sea Girls ever sound bad though? We think not! The upbeat ‘Eat Me Whole’ is setting just the right summer festival vibe too (they're playing The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City, Truck and Reading & Leeds), and we can envisage plenty of hands-in-air, dancing fans loving this.
And post-summer, the London foursome have confirmed details of an October headline tour, including a hometown show on the big stage at Scala.
