Florence + The Machine announce new album and share lead single 'Hunger'

Words: Ellie Ward

There's a new Florence Welch album on the way. Announced today, 'High As Hope' will drop on June 29 and will be the follow up to 2015's 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful'.

Welch, who co-produced the album with Emile Haynie, has preceded release with both its lead single and music video.

“This song is about the ways we look for love in things that are perhaps not love, and how attempts to feel less alone can sometimes isolate us more,” says Welch of 'Hunger'. “I guess I made myself more vulnerable in this song to encourage connection, because perhaps a lot more of us feel this way than we are able to admit. Sometimes when you can’t say it, you can sing it.”

'High As Hope' will be the fourth full-length work from Florence + The Machine, and includes contributions from Kamasi Washington, Jamie xx, Sampha, Tobias Jesso Jr. and Kelsey Lu.
