Best new tracks Down Under #46

With the vibrant indie music scene in Australia and New Zealand constantly outshining much of the output from their British and American cousins, Little Indie picks our weekly bunch of some of the best new tracks on offer.

GIRL YORK - LOST AT SEA

Perth grunge-pop trio - Shaun Martin, James Knox, Tim Mead - have dropped the first taste of their upcoming second EP, 'Dreaming in 505', out November 30. With elements of gritty 90s shoegaze, “ultimately the song is about being completely lost in life, and pleading that it’s not you that has to endure a wasted life, because you haven’t lived, you haven’t loved," says vocalist Shaun Martin. "It’s only when it’s too late that you realise what you should do, and this haunts you without respite. Attempting to chase the fix and desperation to realise the most perfect solutions, only leads to deteriorating relationships with those you love and admire, and respect from others, to the point at which you are the reason that you’re lost at sea”

LONE ELK - BROAD ARROW

The Sydney psych-rock quartet follow debut single 'Same Moon', with tjis new dreamy indie-rock-pop offering. "'Same Moon' is probably the best representation of our sound to date," they say, "we think it’s the most 'accessible' song from our collection. It's written in dedication of the horrible Port Arthur Massacre and is our take/representation of the gun laws around the world."
