WIVES turn up their scuzzy punk on 'The 20 Teens'

This is so retro US, that it couldn't possibly be mistaken as coming from anywhere else. Yes, the Queens, New Yorkers WIVES return with this new track, 'The 20 Teens', and the visuals to accompany it.

The quartet are led by vocalist, guitarist and primary songwriter, Jay Beach (guitarist Andrew Bailey of DIIV is also part of the group) - upping the ante on their melodic, scuzzy punk-rock with nods to the larger than life choruses of WAVVES and FIDLAR - the track precedes their debut album, 'So Removed', set to arrive on October 4 via City Slang, which they will tour across Europe and UK in November.

The video captures a raucous house show in Bushwick, NY, shot by Alexandra Noland and interspersed with fuzzy found footage and topped off with the playful animations of artist Robbie Pfeffer.

The inspiration for 'The 20 Teens' came to Beach while hanging with a friend in a Bushwick diner. "I heard a song by A Flock of Seagulls. My friend turned to me and said 'why don't they just call this song "the 19 eighties", cuz when I listen to it that's all I can think of.' I laughed and said I would write a song called 'The 20 Teens'."
