Ahead of their appearance this coming weekend at Brighton's free festival (see further down), irrepressible Glaswegian Walt Disco are putting on their 'Dancing Shoes' for their 7" vinyl only new release, out today via Sports Team's Holm Front Records.
“I wrote ‘Dancing Shoes’ about a year and a half ago," says frontman James Potter. "It was during a time in my life where I was really struggling to deal with noticing pain and depression within my immediate family and found it difficult to talk about, so I used the writing of this song as therapy. It is very sad but I feel better now it’s written and hope others can take comfort from the song too.”
As Potter weaves his vocal acrobatics around angular guitars and sharp synths, the glam-post-punk edge is fused with pulsing drum beats as the quintet deliver a nostalgic 80s refrain that is hard to resist.
