South London’s Gaygirl are 'Killing It' on new track

Words: Sam Geary

London grunge-pop band Gaygirl share a new track today ahead tomorrow's (May 22) release of their debut EP 'Pleasurehead' via Permanent Creeps.

'Killing It' opens chillingly with the intriguing voice of Bex Morrison over ponderous guitar chords, before it flows on through intricately woven driving layers.

The brash, reverb anthem is, says vocalist/guitarist Morrison, "about feeling stuck and the flitting emotions between trying to make things okay, and being on the verge of having a complete meltdown. The extreme up-and-down contradicting lyrical content is reflected throughout the song and as it progresses, falls more and more out of control.”
