After going off social media after controversial postings, The 1975's Matt Healy made a late night (October 5) UK time, unannounced surprise return on Instagram Live.
Filmed in an anonymous room with a floor lamp and potted orchid in the background, Healy appears dressed in white shirt, black trousers and a tie loose around his neck.
After settling down in a chair with a mug of something and a cigarette, in the five minute film, he strums an acoustic guitar as he sings 'Be My Mistake', a track off the band's third studio album of 2018, 'A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships'.
The performance and Healy's demeanour gave rise to fans questioning was he okay, that he looked and sounded low in spirits.
