Track Of The Day :: The Snuts - Always
Words: Ali Mack
The Snuts are always a good listen. And on emotional new track ‘Always’, released last Friday, they don't disappoint.
Venturing down to London to record at The Firepit with producer Tony Hoffer (M83, Beck), the Scottish quartet take on a darker tone to previous releases, as vocalist Jack Cochrane says: "Lyrically, the song depicts the message of falling in love with someone who in turn allows you to love yourself; quite arguably, one of the most difficult things to try and do these days."
The brooding, atmospheric track sees Cochrane employ his rough-hinged voice to conveying the kind of passionate rawness that stamps its weight over spirited guitars, and anchored by rhythmic drums.
Check out the delight of 'Always' via Michael Sherrington's video, which was filmed at Edinburgh’s Leith Theatre, with the group requesting that the video budget be used to support the live music industry which has faced financial uncertainty over the last seven months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
