When BERRIES signed to Xtra Mile Recordings back in November we were promised a new track - and boy was it worth it.
From the very start, the catchy guitar riff of 'Copy' by vocalist Holly instantly captivates, and it soon becomes apparent that the urgency of their previous work and new guidance have given the girls time to revalue and fine tune their craft.
From Lauren’s beating relentless bass to drummer Lucie’s frenetic beats, the track gathers pace and gradual momentum into BERRIES' signature hard rocking sound.
'Copy' lyrically touches on the subjects of conformity and the way we’re all programmed to fail by constantly trying to live up to someone else’s value. As the lyrics comment: “We trace forget about it / It's entertaining how they exist / More haste then rein it in / Just pick it up and raise it to the cause / This life it's never been traced before / Major details and their tiny flaws."
This is a brilliant effort by BERRIES who have progressed massively since I first saw them play in 2017, and who look set to make even bigger strides over the next 12 months.
