Words: Sam Geary
Folk-punk-pop trio Eddie and the Valkyries from Stockton-on-Tees combine jaunty traditional folk rhythms with a poppish rock 'n' roll ambience that you can't help nod along to, in a sort of Mumford & Sons way, on 'Irish Blood', their new single.
The song, they say, is about vocalist Oliver Carlton's grandfather, "who lost his way as an Irish migrant in Teesside and eventually came home. It's a nice one - we think."
