Blaenavon drop video for new single 'Catatonic Skinbag'
Words: Sam Geary
After just completing their support tour with The Wombats - and prior to their own headline tour in May (scroll down for dates) - Blaenavon have dropped a new video, directed by London creatives Homer & Farley, to their latest single 'Catatonic Skinbag'.
Premiered recently on Jack Saunders' BBC Radio 1 show as his Track of the Week, 'Catatonic Skinbag' is the first taste of their forthcoming second album 'Everything That Makes You Happy' (due later this year), the follow up to 2017's 'That's Your Lot'.
"The video reflects a pretty miserable time in my life," reveals vocalist Ben Gregory. "Living in a cycle of self pity and sensual self-indulgence. Harris [McMillan, drums] and Frank [Wright, bass] knocking on my door but I'm too busy soaking in stagnant bath water to answer. The song is a bit of fun but the theme is pretty severe: 'always tired, lacking desire to feel enough to start the day'."
Watch the clip for 'Catatonic Skinbag' below.
