These Dublin boys are at the forefront of the Irish movement storming the indie scene. Menacing onstage with great tunes behind them there’s a hint that its all gonna kick off at any moment.
Jack Perrett
(Fri 1pm Latest Music Bar; Sat 8pm The Walrus)
This lad from Wales has been exploding the indie Britpop scene recently, with fast-paced, guitar-driven songs with enough edge to hit you where it hurts.
Lady Bird
(Fri 7.15pm The Old Market)
The Tunbridge Wells lads know exactly how to turn a crowd into a dancing mosh pit, similar to their mentors Slaves, but easier on the ear.
The Van T's
(Thurs 2.30pm Queens Hotel)
Scotland’s fuzzy scuzzy punk quartet are fast, brash and fun. Loud guitars with synth harmonies, aggressive drums and duo vocals make them a cut above the rest.

Aussie Britpop-inspired indie.

These remind me a lot of Vampire Weekend; definitely African-beat influenced.
The Howl & The Hum
(Thurs 12am Hope & Ruin)
Melancholic indie, just what I need at midnight on day one! In all seriousness, they are brilliant.

(Fri 2pm Green Door Store, Fri 6.45pm Concorde 2, Sat 1.15pm The Walrus)
Canadian songwriter with an amazing voice, whose set ranges from acapella ballads to electro-pop anthems.
LUCIA
(Fri 1.10pm One Church, Fri 7.15pm Coalition, Sat 8.15pm The Old Market)
Feel-good Scottish pop.
Chappaqua Wrestling
(Fri 8.15pm Horatios)
My pick of the entire festival - haven't managed to pigeonhole them yet; really interesting sound.
Gently Tender
(Fri 10.15pm The Haunt)
Interested to see what became of - some of - the former Palma Violets.
