Little Indie's Ones To Watch 2020 Part Two

It's that time of year once again where Little Indie has rounded up our longlist of emerging artists who we think will be worth taking a gamble on in 2020, as well as a few who 'hatched' awhile ago but are now ready - we think - to break free.

JOESEF

As he kicks off 2020 with a place on the BBC Sound Of... list, Glasgow soul boy with a touch of pop, Joesef, will be touring in March and on the summer festival circuit, after which you can be sure as yer next bottle of Bucky, he'll be a name on everyone's lips. Sam Geary

WAAX

Brisbane’s WAAX haven’t really gravitated over to the UK yet, but 2020 could change that. Signed to Oz label Dew Process, recent single ‘No Apology’, released last autumn, and debut album 'Big Grief', showcase a band full of energy with a lot to say for themselves. Richard Cobb

COUPLES

Couples, a five-piece from London's Camden Town, blew me away with their indie-psych styled rock and frontman Conor Collingwood’s edgy vocal delivery and eccentric moves, at last year's Cro-Cro Festival. A tight-knit band musically with a slight jazz undertones and plenty of showmanship. Steve Willcox

ODD MORRIS

Fronted by vocalist Daragh Griffin, this new Dublin band came to attention with their Soma session performance of 'The Nothing New' last August. This followed their debut single 'What Might Be' released in March, and highlighted a brooding post-punk approach, driven by tightly wound guitars and poetic lyrics. They are bubbling under, and 2020 should be the year they come to the boil. Linn Branson

PIST IDIOTS

More Aussies. Pist Idiots, who hail from Sydney, have been letting off some incredible noise fireworks for the last few years, particularly last year’s ‘Ticker’ EP. With the rise of fellow countrymen The Chats over the last few months, this could easily kick open the door for the rest of the world to discover their tremendously talented rock 'n' roll mates. Richard Cobb
