Track Of The Day :: Glass Violet - Over the Moor

Words: Charlie Emmett

Bristol five-piece Glass Violet kick off the new decade with a cracker of a tune in 'Over the Moor'.

Out today (January 17), it's the second single after last year's self-produced debut single 'Chemicals', and this one has got pretty much everything needed for a buzzy hit, from an infectious rhythm, bouncy melodies, and soaring guitar riffs, to a rich singlong chorus and Tom Hurdiss striking a sweet vocal balance.

"It’s a song about ends and starts and how different phases of life often pass you by without you noticing it’s happened," is what the band say about it. "It's about the desire for finding a certain fire within new beginnings."

Check out the song - and if you fancy catching this lot live, then head to a Free Entry hometown show in Bristol at Department S Club Night at The Lanes on January 25, or their show for This Feeling at The Moon in Cardiff on February 6.
