Drug Store Romeos release their latest single & video ‘Quotations For Locations’

Words: Ellie Ward

Hampshire three-piece Drug Store Romeos have dropped their latest single, ‘Quotations For Locations’, along with a video.

Following earlier release ‘Frame Of Reference’, the warm, atmospheric track marks the band’s first collaboration with alt-J producer and mixer Charlie Andrew and his assistant Matt Glasbey.

‘Quotations For Locations’ weaves intricately layered live drum machines programmed to different trigger pads, and the keyboard in the last chorus was recorded through a computer microphone on a Zoom call with Andrew while the track was being mixed.

“‘Quotations For Locations’ is a song that zooms in on some intricacies of life which in turn causes you to zoom out from yours," say the band. "Allowing you to then become completely enveloped in it’s minimalist arrangement and light dancey groove.”

The video was directed, edited and filmed during lockdown by vocalist Sarah Downey.

Drug Store Romeos play their first headline show on November 19 at SET in London's Dalston.
