Introducing :: Casual Panic
Bucks four-piece Casual Panic who formed in 2011 of two 18-year-olds and two 19-year-olds, have already supported the likes of Drenge, Slaves and Skaters, as well as releasing their debut self-titled EP in May.
After Archie Keir, Charlie Glover-Wright and Stephen Ettery met whilst still at school and decided on starting a band, they then tried out various singers to join the trio but with no success. Zach Campbell, a popular guy in the year above, was performing in one of the school assemblies. His talents did not go unnoticed by Charlie who later, undeterred by the difference in school years, emailed Zach asking if he'd come along to rehearse with them. They instantly gelled as a band, coming up with the name Casual Panic. Having initially played covers at local venues they quickly built up a set of original material, which, in a short time has seen the young band now playing venues such as the O2 Academy Oxford and the Camden Barfly.
Crafting catchy melodies with a grunge vibe with a very blunt and forward vocal, the Casual Panic sound also draws on the classic rock influences heard in the guitar solos prominent in most of their songs. Take a listen below.
The band play Milton Keynes Wonderworld on October 19 for the Oxjam Takeover, followed by Barfly, Camden, London on November 30, and Bedford Esquires on December 12.
Casual Panic are: Zach Campbell - vocals/guitar; Archie Keir - lead guitar; Stephen Ettery - bass; Charlie Glover-Wright - drums;
