With one of our favourite tracks of last month - 'Man On The Coast' - San Francisco duo Seatraffic have today put out their full-length debut, 'Beauty In The Night' (available on vinyl and digitally via self-release).
Alongside, Seatraffic are also streaming the slow-burning, eponymous record closer. 'Beauty In The Night' explores more experimental territory than 'Man On The Coast', but it really is a beauty five-and-a-half minutes of listening time.
The new collection of synth heavy tracks were recorded last autumn at Different Fur Studios with Nic Pope (STS9, Bob Mould, The Morning Benders). Singer Mark Zannad says of the title track, below:
"There are many themes to the record, but I think the most important one comes from the title track 'Beauty in the Night'. This song is about self realization and understanding your position in life. It's so easy to lose sight of why you started something, and I think it's really important to stop every once in a while and reassess what you are doing and how you got there. I don't want to tell people how to live there lives, but I do want people to stop and think about how beautiful life is. A simple song with a simple message, stop for a second and appreciate your life for whatever it is worth."
Don't you just love them.
