Introducing :: Canadian teens Revelstoke mark their debut with first EP

Words: Linn Branson

Forming just three months ago in a small Canadian town that most of the world will never have heard of, young teen band Revelstoke could be the ones to put Tottenham, Ontario (an hour north of Toronto) on the map.

Comprised of two sets of brothers, Nicholas (17) and Vincent (18) Eagan, and Gray (16) and Cash (19) Laine, they have just released their "basement recorded" self-titled, five-track debut EP, which they dropped on March 24.

Take a listen to the record's lead track, the Oasis-meets-Nirvana-esque 'In Your World', below. The grunge-styled number is showcased in the band's 17-year-old vocalist Nicholas Eagan's raw, gravel-edged voice, and low-key instrumental backing.

It was inspired, he says, "by a close friend. It is about the difficulties people face in life and how we all struggle. And how we don’t have to let these struggles take a hold of our life and we can through our problems."

With plans for an album release this summer, and live shows in Canada and the US, Revelstoke mean business. Check them out now.

Revelstoke are: Nicholas Eagan - lead vocals, rhythm guitar; Vincent Eagan - bass; Gray Laine - lead guitar; Cash Laine - drums.
