July 24 2015 - Hot Top Ten

SWOONS - THE SIDE
Third track we have now heard from this bunch of self-described 'hot-blooded urchins' from Bucks - and perhaps their best yet. Indie with a post-punk face, and a not exactly self-effacing frontman.

AVIVA - BREATHE
The Sydney electronic duo have dropped an 'A' from the end of their name since we featured them last October, but Aviva Payne‘s Lana Del Rey-esque vocals still sound exquisite.

KAGOULE - MADE OF CONCRETE
New single from the Nottingham three-piece's 'Urth' debut album, released August 21 via Earache Records, that fills out two minutes with grunge guitars and bassist Lucy Hatter on vocals. Catch them tomorrow both in Birmingham at One Beat Festival, and Tramlines festival, Sheffield.

ROYAL HEADACHE - ANOTHER WORLD
Taken from the Sydney-based punk group's new album ‘High’, out on August on 21 via What’s Your Rupture, their second album and first since recently reforming. A sonic raucous basher.

NIGHT BEDS - CORNER
Nashville-based Winston Yellen turns his tenor vocal to a country-dream-pop melody - complete with orchestral flourishes and shimmering harmonies - on this track from his upcoming second album 'Ivywild', released August 7 via Dead Oceans.

LOWER - AT THE ENDLESS PARTY
Copenhagen post-punk quartet (made up of members of Age Coin, Olymphia, Vår, Marching Church) follow last year's debut LP 'Seek Warmer Climes' with  EP 'I’m A Lazy Son…But I’m The Only Son', out September 11. This lead single is a melancholy piece if anguish that veers from their rowdy punk approach, with Adrian Toubro’s echoed vocals wrapped around jittery bass and airy backing piano.

PINS - LIVE AND LET GO
B-side to single 'Dazed By You' (from recently released second album 'Wild Nights'), released on August 21 thru Bella Union. Dark 60s-sounding with a psych edge.

ADULT MOM - LAYING ON MY FLOOR
From debut album 'Momentary Lapse Of Happily', out July 28 via Tiny Engines, New Yorker Steph Knipe’s fragile vocal to dark, intimate lol songwriting.

ELOHIM - XANAX
B-side to the Los Angeles electro-pop artist's 12", 'She Talks Too Much', out as a limited edition black vinyl today via B3SCI Records. Dreamy vocals, trip-hop beats ooze over synths and percussion echoes.

NEON TIGER - LIVE YOUNG
Brisbane pop-rock quartet air their debut single, which is also the title track of their November released EP. Upbeat power pop that lends big-sounding depth.
