Introducing :: Airways
Words: Linn Branson
New up out of Peterborough comes Airways, a recently formed indie four-piece ("four young good-looking lads," as they describe themselves on their Twitter bio) who just today (February 3) released their first song to public scrutiny.
'Ghost Town', drummer Brian Moroney tells us, is "based around the idea of how caught up our modern world is in technology". Recorded with Dom Craik (Nothing But Thieves), 'Ghost Town' pounds along on a galvanising pop-rock beat, catchy melody with soaring guitar tone and nicely punctuated vocals.
A young band (guitarist Alex the oldest at a mere 21, with bassist Jamie the youngest at just 18) with a sound that could see them picking up following. They've already received airplay with 'Ghost Town' on local BBC Introducing Cambridgeshire, plus a healthy raft of gigs under their belt - including sold out shows with Nothing But Thieves. Worth checking them out live as their shiny, vibrant sound could see them doing very well in future months.
