Kill J is the first of two female Danish experimental artists with extraordinary vocal acrobatics we are featuring this week. The Copenhagen-based singer/songwriter and producer Julie Aagaard released 'Trickle Trickle' last Friday (January 29), a track which also features on her debut EP, 'Quasi', set for release in March.
Following last year’s 'You’re Good But I’m Better' and 'Propaganda', there's a softer vibe to her on this new work that layers her part sultry, part pitch-shattering vocals with a punchy bassline and electro beats.
'Trickle Trickle', Aagaard explains, references "that draining love - that humiliating love. It's about the addiction to the sweet painrcoming from a poisoned relationship; it's a song about masochistic love."
Kill J makes her live US debut at SXSW in Austin, Texas next month.
