Introducing :: MOSSY

New signing to the I Oh You stable (home to DMA'S, Violent Soho, City Calm Down, DZ Deathrays), MOSSY is the solo project of Jamie Timony. And as a first taster he is inviting you to sit in his 'Electric Chair', the lead cut from his upcoming self-titled debut EP which is released on May 9.

The EP, recorded in a basement studio on New York’s Lower East Side, wad produced by Dean Tuza with additional production from David Kahne (The Strokes, Paul McCartney). Debut single 'Electric Chair', far from being the uncomfortable experience you may imagine, is a psych-pop turnabout for the former member of Sydney punk band These New South Wales.

Timony, also an actor, has received national recognition with the recent rockumentry series on the band, but thst seems all very much a world apart from MOSSY.

'Electric Chair' is an experimental, lavish concoction of electronics and iridescent vocals, and a psych influence. The accompanying video, directed by Kris Moyes (who has also produced videos for Grizzly Bear and The Rapture amongst others) is a highly cinematic visual extravaganza based on the Greek myth of Narcissus.

If you're intrigued enough as to how this all pans out in a live setting, those in the UK will find out when MOSSY hits these shores to play The Great Escape in May.
