Introducing :: TONES
Words: Ellie Ward
With just the second track they have publicly aired - after 'A.W.O.L' last year - south London punk teens TONES now unveil 'Here On After', which received its debut play via John Kennedy on Radio X this week, not a bad start for the four 17-year-olds, who formed while at secondary school, bored by the monotony of suburban teenage life and education.
With grunge-driven guitar sound and gritty, rock 'n'punk attitude. TONES deliver a high energy, fiery call to arms to the youth of today to step up and take a stand: “Youth should be free and not be told by a government who they are and what they need. The machine is trying to make us all into clones but we need to take a step up and shape the future for ourselves,” is their mantra.
TONES are: Jake Cunningham (vocals, lead guitar), Dan Foreman (guitar, backing vocals), Henry Webb (bass), James Morris (drums).
