Track Of The Day :: The Vryll Society - La Jetee

Words: Sam Geary

We have a mind to thinking that Deltasonic psych rockers The Vryll Society's new single may not sound so chicly French when pronounced in their native Liverpool twang.

Produced by Joe Fearon and Tom Longworth, 'La Jetee'  -out now on Deltasonic Records - (correctly spelt as La Jetée) is a Sixties French pop aesthetics release inspired by Chris Marker’s 1962 post-apocalyptic vision of Paris, although the five-piece here weave their spacey melodics and Mike Ellis’ ethereal vocals around it so that it is more of a psych dream to tune in and turn on to than anything loud and bombastic as may be thought.
