Released last month on Queeze Records, the second single from Melbourne quartet Tom Prettys.
After catching our attention back in August with their debut 'Shelf Life', the brooding 'Slipping', recorded with Neil Gray at Big Sky Audio, interweaves a variety of sounds and concepts, with the lyrics painting a vivid and all too relevant picture of personal disinterest and disconnection - something discernible in Matt Steyn's almost detached, disinterested, vocal delivery during the the sub-four-minute track.
“Lyrically, it’s about feigning interest in something happening to you to seem like you’re present”, says Steyn. “I watched a friend go through what should’ve been a tough time, but they really just acted out the emotions they thought others wanted to see without truly feeling them”.
