AYAWASKA are a new alt-indie-psych rock band based in Liverpool and the Runcorn area who are about to release their debut single 'The Ride' on January 30.
Formed late last year, the three-piece, who take their band name from the "brew or spiritual medicine drank by the indigenous people of Amazonia", describe their music as "painting profound picture of life in modern times with influences from early 60s psychedelia to modern day indie rock."
Vocalist Mike Davies tells us the motivation behind the track "is recognising the imbalance of everyday life, like you don't know what the future holds so try and enjoy etc. Try not to worry about things and go with the flow and enjoy each day as it comes."
"With 'The Ride'," he adds, "we wanted quite an uptempo positive feel, but with slight uncertainty as well."
