Listen :: Shame deliver a new vociferous message in 'Tasteless'

Words: Ellie Ward

South London band Shame have never been ones to take the easy way out, and new single 'Tasteless' is as feisty and rip-roaring a punk anthem as you are likely to hear and encapsulates the energy that their live shows have become known for with its torrent of raw-edged guitar riffs and scorching basslines, not to mention the inimitable razor-blade yowls from vocalist Charlie Steen.

Steen describes the song as about "protesting against people's constant acceptance and indifference towards deeply troubling issues within society as well as politics, only seeming to care when it is something that will affect them. A comment disregarding some people's over-sensitivity when a person or group of people speak out about something."

As Shame hit SXSW this week, they should be waking up a few minds in Austin.
