Track Of The Day :: Desert Planes - Hot Cars In The Sun
Words: Linn Branson
The new single from London four-piece (recently expanded from original duo) Desert Planes is aptly titled for this current spell of scorching UK weather.
‘Hot Cars In The Sun’, released on June 23 through LAB Records, is supremely suited for zooming along the motorway, top down (if you're lucky enough to own a convertible that is), and singing along to its chorus; failing that, an open-air festival stage is the next best thing.
Produced by Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Clean Cut Kid, The Coral), at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studios, it's an an infectious banger (more of a Porsche Boxer than a Mazda) of a track, that zooms along on a hook laden indie highway, with Tom Farrer having that Chris Caines (Coasts) vocal appeal.
