New tracks coming up from Down Under

Little Indie casts its ears and eyes over more of the latest sounds to emerge recently from Down Under.

TIGERTOWN - WARRIORS

Sydney alt-pop favourites with new catchy beats track, out now on Neon Gold Records/Atlantic. It follows their debut EP 'Lonely Cities' and last year's 'Papernote' EP. A song about the divide between fantasy and reality, “Warriors” carries on themes of love and introspection which lie behind much of Tigertown’s lyricism.

THE MOULDY LOVERS - BOONDOCK

The Brisbane seven-piece skillfully combine folk, punk, ska and dub, along with gang vocals, and even a few horns. According to vocalist Gavin Cook, the song is "concerned with how environment has an effect on people, and how people in turn have an effect on their environment."

THE DREGGS - GIVE MYSELF TO YOU

Infectious indie-pop-folk-roots acoustics from Brisbane duo Paddy Macrae (vocals, percussion) and Zane Harris (guitar, vocals). Get clapping and foot tapping.

BAD FRENCH - TEEN DREAM WOMAN

Oh, this is Smooth with a capital S, along with Sexy, Sultry and just a bit Sublime. Dreamy electronic duo, Daniel Forsyth and Michael Carney, putting the ooh la las and R&B into this just unveiled new track from the New South Wales pair.

THE HIDEAWAYS - KEEP IT DOWN

Described as the lovechild of INXS, Gang of Youths and The 1975, the Sydney foursome follow 'Waiting Around' from earlier in the year with this new easy rhythmed release featuring the earworthy vocals of Liam Deans.

CONFIDENCE MAN - BETTER SIT DOWN BOY

Just released contagious dance-punk single of thumping bass and heady percussion (and Janet Planet's "Oh, you speak French!?") from the Melbourne-based electronic pop quartet: Reggie Goodchild, Clarence McGuffie, Planet, Sugar Bones. In the UK in December to play Deaf Institute, Manchester (Dec 5), XOYO, London (6), Hare & Hounds, Birmingham (7).
