Brighton’s Gender Roles follow debut 'Skin' and early 2017 EP, 'Planet X-Ray' release through Hanger Records, with a signing to Big Scary Monsters and first single for them: 'Plastic'.
Debuted by Huw Stephens on Radio One earlier this week, 'Plastic' is a gritty three-and-a-half-minute banger of fuzzy guitars and a full-on noise close, from the grunge-punk trio, with Tom Bennett's lyrical observations on the titular false and 'plastic' faces some wear: ‘’I’m nothing but a camera/And you’re nothing but a screen.’’
Catch Gender Roles at London's Dublin Castle tonight (December 7), followed by a Brighton hometown show on December 18 at The Hope & Ruin. They then kick off 2018 heading out on tour with labelmate Jamie Lenman, stopping at:
