10 Little Indie Hot Picks

Fed up with hearing the same old tunes? Well, why not cast your ears over ten of our new specially handpicked hot picks!

NIGHT FLOWERS - LOSING THE LIGHT

The London dreampop band return with their latest single - released this week - that combines their hook-filled pop specialties with lush synths and Sophia Pettit adding the dulcet vocal essence.

ISLAND - RIDE

Taken from new full-length ‘Feels Like Air’, out on April 6 via FrenchKiss Records, from the now London-based band, there's no getting away from the effectiveness of Rollo Doherty's vocals and that light touch of guitar gloss here. “’Ride’ itself is a song about freedom, adventure and the power that comes with being young.”

DAHLIA SLEEPS - BLACKOUT

Following last year's 'Rise', the new single, released January 26 via Olympia Records, from the London quartet sees them once again effectively balance haunting dark pop melodies with Lucy Hill's evocative vocal overlay.

TEAM PICTURE - (I HAVE A) LITTLE SECRET

The Leeds-based alt-rock sextet return with this dreamy new track of humming synths and shimmering guitars with dual vocal accompaniment that shift throughout its three and a half minutes.

CLUB KURU - THE MEMORY JUNKIE

From the psych-pop quintet's debut full-length, 'Giving In', out March 23 via Absolute, this follow up to last year's 'Double L' and 'You Want It Bad', melds former bedroom producer Laurie Erskine's jazz elements with woozy vocals in a lo-fi wrapping.

THE VACCINES - NIGHTCLUB

The Vaccines dropped this battering new track earlier in the week, ahead of their upcoming album, ‘Combat Sports’, which is set to arrive on March 30. “It makes my head feel like a nightclub,” sings Justin Young. Ours too.

BUSHES - COMEBACK KID

This debut single from the Wirral three-piece, is both melodically guitar-laden, yet complete with enough alt-rock to give it edge. The harmonies and title line are pleasingly infectious.

HEAVY RAPIDS - CRYING SHAME

Produced by Chris Marshall and Johnny Madden (Baby Strange), the Glaswegians kick boldly into 2018 with this belter of a number, released on limited run cassette tape as part of ‘Pulling Teeth Records’ Cassette Club.

SKINNY MILK - BLOOD

The Brighton duo, Johnny and Tim, create more decibel ruction with this new raw, abrasive and compelling offering, with addictively urgent riffs and pounding percussion.

DELORENTOS - IN DARKNESS WE FEEL OUR WAY

Dublin's melodic four-piece share this latest downtempo electro track (featuring electronic artist Richie Egan from Jape)  - their first new material in three years - ahead of their new (fifth) album arriving in May.
