Ex-Allusondrugs guitarist's space-rock project Hypnosister delivers 'Ghost'(ly) new single
Words: Sam Geary
Formerly guitarist with Leeds' psych-grungers Allusondrugs, Damian Hughes follows his two space-rock project Hypnosister singles of last year, with both a new track and a run of live shows.
'Ghost' - which you can grab a free download of too via the Bandcamp link below - which is out now on Sleep All Day Music, is a three-minute swirl of big rocky choruses à la Nirvana, worked around organ interludes and grunge-gaze vocals.
"Ghost is about depression, it comes and takes hold of of, twisting our thoughts and debilitating our bodies. You become so detached it's like you're watching yourself on the TV," says Hughes. "You have to figure out how your mind works and learn see the ghost coming so you can defend yourself against it".
