After a two month absence, the This Feeling tour circuit makes its long awaited return to the zone capital of Leeds, The Lending Room, bringing along the finest new acts the scene has to offer. Two bands making their Leeds debut tonight were ‘Big In 18’ picks Wulfman Fury and The Surrenders, as well as The Strawberries making a welcome return to the live scene, all three armed with brilliant songs and three top sets to boot.

Hailing from the musically very fertile city of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Wulfman Fury brought their brand of ‘Kasabian-esque vocals backed up by massive choruses’ as well as a very professional backdrop to the stage in Leeds. Opening with ‘Help Yourself’, brothers Joe and George Moran share vocal and lead guitar duties. making them possibly the best Sheffield front two since Owls' legends Hirst and Bright.

‘Casanova’ shows off the strength of the harmonies between the brothers, both complementing each other supremely during the trance like chorus. Throughout all the songs tonight was the riveting bass of Steve Harrison providing a punchy backing to the whole set and definitely to the fans at the front who were moving and grooving all through the night.

Second single ‘Draw The Line’ was the first the crowd really knew and allowed Will Severs on keys - with a setup to make Depeche Mode jealous - to really add his own touch to the songs. The synths and keys are really smartly mixed into the songs and are not too overbearing but rather add greatly to the sound and live performance. Slowing the pace down for ‘Waterslide’ it allows us all to catch a quick breather, before they bounce into debut single ‘Nightsweats’; and trust me, no one was experiencing any sleep paralysis whilst they were performing tonight.

The set itself has a lot of potential, especially considering the band have only been together for a mere eight gigs. There is clearly a lot of talent within the band, visible in the lyrical skills and how well thought out their live act is. With a new single release expected soon and sold out shows becoming commonplace in their hometown, should they continue their current trajectory, this could be a very big year for Wulfman Fury.
