** PREMIERE ** Lacuna Bloome - Alright

Words: Sam Geary

Lacuna Bloome, a four-piece outfit from Brighton, release their second single 'Alright', today (February 22), and Little Indie is pleased to bring you its first airing.

Only formed in March of last year, they were almost immediately picked up to appear at The Great Escape festival just two months later, and have since gone on to support Otherkin, as well as share the stage with the likes of Cassia and Marsicans, before releasing debut single 'Only One' in August.

Drawing on influence from bands like Oasis, The Amazons, and Jaws - "with some inspiration from Motown records too" - the four-minute 'Alright' opens on a swathe of lush guitars, striking a balance with Niall Logue's beguiling vocals and the track's buoyant melodies, and some rampant drumming around the three-minute mark.

"The song is about wanting to escape from the world around us, and the glum current affairs that have been occurring over the past year or so," relates Logue. "Even with all these problems around us, knowing that you've got your friends by your side, it's going to be alright."

Listen to 'Alright' below - and sound out Lacuna Bloome live. Word on the street is that they're a bit good.
