Slaves focus on heartache and rejection on new single 'Chokehold'
Ahead of their forthcoming third album 'Acts Of Fear And Love', out on August 17, punk rock duo Slaves share a new cut from it, 'Chokehold'.
The punchy track is focused on rejection. "A lot of men have had that feeling of being dumped and not spoken about it,” says Isaac, while Laurie adds that “Chokehold’s our attempt at writing a pop love tune. At first Isaac was concerned he was wearing his heart on his sleeve a bit."
The track comes with a video whose story runs that Isaac leaves to pursue his dream of being an international dance sensation, while Laurie is left behind to audition a new drummer. One by one, in walks Ben Thatcher (Royal Blood), Joel Amey (Wolf Alice), Dom Boyce (Peace), Sam Doyle (Maccabees), Amber Grimbergen (HINDS), Dave Rowntree (Blur), and a few other characters.
