Track Of The Day :: ALLIGATOR are snapping at heels with 'Shadow By Your Side'

Words: Linn Branson

Newly emerging Glasgow four-piece ALLIGATOR, who formed at the start of the year, have released their second single ‘Shadow By Your Side’ last week.

"I wrote ‘Shadow By Your Side’ because life is all about family and your mates and everything else is just shite,” reveals lead singer and guitarist James McDonald, formerly with Jim Valentine, a band who came and went far too quickly in Little Indie's opinion, having featured them here several times.

ALLIGATOR follow their spring debut ‘Trickle Down’ - which featured on the opening theme to the UEFA Champions League semi-final - with this fuzzy number of reverbed guitars and McDonald's distinctive vocal dusting that fill out four minutes of melodic noise-pop very well indeed.

Influenced by the likes of Iggy Pop, Clash, Lou Reed and the Beatles amongst others, will announce a UK and European October tour shortly to coincide with their debut EP release.
