Watch :: Happy Accidents ‘Act Naturally’ in spoof doc remake video
Words: Ellie Ward
London indie-punks Happy Accidents have released an ambitiously wry video for their new single ‘Act Naturally’, the latest cut from new album 'Everything But The Here And Now'.
The visual is a 15-minute long shot-for-shot recreation of an ‘80s BBC South documentary that was made about HA drummer Phoebe Cross' dad's old band, Laughter In The Garden. Most of the dialogue is only slightly changed and the film focuses on their failure to get a foot in the door of the music industry.
Laughter in the Garden were formed in Southampton in 1982, and received radio airplay via John Peel and David 'Kid' Jensen that summer, and subsequently recorded a Radio 1 session at BBC Maida Vale. One of the tracks, 'Desperate Remedies', was the shortest song ever recorded for a BBC session.
Happy Accidents will be releasing the film on special VHS video format which will be available to preorder on their website.
