If you feel there's a certain familiarity about the Los Angeles-based Unloved - vocalist and songwriter Jade Vincent, her partner the producer/composer Keefus Ciancia, and the DJ and producer/composer David Holmes - then it may be because the band have provided the songs for Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s acclaimed BBC series Killing Eve.
But this new track, 'Heartbreak', which is their first for UK label Heavenly Recordings, and taken from their forthcoming second album, gives them the spotlight as deserved. A rich, retro sound that is wrapped around Vincent’s sublime achingly smoky voice and lyrics, as she opines “how many times can our hearts stand to break?”
The band will give the debut live performance of the album in London on December 5 at Hoxton Hall.
